Benchmarking Consultant for Trainer Development Program -100% Virtual
Job Description
We are working with a client in the oil & gas industry in locating a Benchmarking Consultant to inform the design of a Trainer Development Program for their Upstream Operations. The ideal candidate will research and analyze how leading companies across various high-stakes industries develop their trainers and identify best practices. This role involves a phased approach to benchmarking and application, providing a robust business case for the execution phase of our learning ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
Duration: 3 to 6 months
Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
Location: 100% Virtual
The pay range is $75 to $85 per hour. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, relevant education, certifications and specific work location.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive benchmarking across industries that demand high-quality output with low tolerance for failure (e.g., airlines, healthcare, trucking, military, NASA).
- Develop criteria to identify high-performing companies and justify their inclusion in the benchmarking study.
- Identify and analyze 3-4 core principles used by these leading firms in their trainer development programs.
- Provide detailed reports on benchmarking findings, including methodology and rationale.
- Advise on how to apply these core principles to the development of our upstream trainers.
- Develop a phased implementation plan for integrating best practices into our training program.
- Extensive experience in benchmarking studies, particularly across diverse and high-stakes industries.
- Proven ability to identify and articulate core principles of successful trainer development programs.
- Strong analytical skills to discern what makes a company a high performer in training and development.
- Ability to provide actionable insights and recommendations based on benchmarking findings.
- Excellent communication skills to present findings and recommendations clearly and effectively.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry is desirable but not mandatory.
