Instructional Designer- 100% Virtual
Job Description
Our client, a global technical organization, is preparing for a high-visibility Sales Kickoff (SKO) event in mid-December and is seeking an experienced Senior Instructional Designer to temporarily backfill a team member going on temporary leave. This role is critical in designing and delivering engaging, hybrid learning experiences for a large internal sales audience.
- Design and develop engaging instructor-led (ILT) and virtual instructor-led training (vILT) as part of a broader hybrid learning strategy for a major internal event.
- Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders—including product experts, sales leaders, and project managers—to align training content with strategic priorities.
- Facilitate planning sessions and synthesize input from multiple leaders into clear, actionable instructional strategies.
- Provide visual learning design options, effectively communicating layout and conceptual structure for learning experiences, even if not producing final graphics.
- Conduct SME interviews and use available product documentation and business priorities to build or update course content.
- Navigate a dynamic and loosely structured project environment, ensuring deliverables stay on track despite evolving requirements.
- 8+ years of instructional design experience, with a focus on ILT, vILT, and blended learning.
- Strong conceptual design skills with the ability to visualize and articulate instructional flows and learner experiences.
- Experience in sales enablement, sales leadership, or technical training highly preferred.
- Able to thrive in asynchronous, fast-paced environments with frequent change and limited oversight.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and guide cross-functional teams to meet key deadlines.
- Proficiency in Articulate 360, InDesign, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Comfortable working with loosely structured PM function
- Brings agility, adaptability, and problem-solving skills to shifting priorities
- Knows when to accommodate changes—and when to push back professionally to maintain scope and timelines
- Self-starter who can both execute and drive progress without formal project management authority
- This is a remote contract role.
- Consultant must provide their own software licenses and hardware.
- Course count and duration are still being finalized; some source content exists, but significant development will come from SME interviews and stakeholder input.
Project Start Date: Mid Sept to Early Aug 2025
Duration: December 20, 2025
Location: Virtual
Hours: 40 hours per week
