Job Description

We are supporting a large oil and gas client on a multi-year initiative to modernize its instructional design approach. The program involves redesigning and developing approximately 60 curricula in multiple phases.

This dual-role position combines Quality Control (QC) and Document Control to ensure all training materials meet the client’s rigorous standards for accuracy, consistency, and technical precision. The QC responsibilities focus on reviewing eLearning courses, supporting materials, and glossary content for alignment with the style guide, branding, and learning objectives. The Document Control responsibilities focus on maintaining organized, version-controlled files across SharePoint, following team-established standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Control (QC):
  • Partner closely with the Clarity Training Project Team, including the project director, project managers, and other team members across multiple projects.
  • Conduct “cold-eye” reviews of lesson storyboards, in-house documents, and alpha/beta Storyline 360 lessons, checking for style, image consistency, branding, grammar, punctuation, material dating, and accuracy.
  • Validate instructional content by testing lessons for navigation, compliance with templates, adherence to the style guide and SOPs, and standards such as color palettes and learning interactions.
  • Verify all knowledge checks and test questions for clarity, accuracy, and functionality, performing test runs to ensure lessons meet required standards before publication.
  • Review and maintain lesson glossaries, ensuring all technical terms are clearly defined, sourced from approved references, used consistently, cross-referenced for AKAs, and aligned with the Master Glossary.
  • Check glossary spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting, and ensure there is no plagiarized content.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews as directed by the project director and managers to ensure consistent quality across all materials.
  • Perform additional QC responsibilities as required by project needs.

Document Control (DC):
  • Maintain document organization across SharePoint, enforcing file-naming conventions, version control, and accurate archiving of previous drafts.
  • Ensure revision tracking is accurate and files remain consistent with team-established standards.
  • Monitor adherence to filing standards on all digital platforms.

Requirements:
  • Experience in instructional design support, document control, or eLearning QC within the oil and gas industry or an adjacent technical field.
  • Experience quality-checking eLearning courses in Articulate Storyline, including functionality, accuracy, and visual consistency.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage document flow systematically and ensure adherence to project standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, methodical approach, and proven ability to identify errors or inconsistencies and resolve them effectively.
  • Proficient in proofreading for grammar and punctuation (AP Style Guide).
  • Experienced in SharePoint and Microsoft Office, including file monitoring, naming conventions, version control, and archiving.
  • Collaborative and resourceful, with the ability to partner effectively with project teams and consultants.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure accuracy and consistency across all materials.
Start Date: Continuous recruitment to support ongoing needs; individual start dates will be determined based on project requirements.
Duration: Up to 2 years
Hours: 15 to 20 hours per week, with some availability during business hours for meetings
Location: 100% Virtual
