Project Manager / Learning Experience Consultant (Oil & Gas Safety and Compliance Training)
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of a learning program focused on building supervisor capability in operational integrity and risk-based decision making.
- Conduct analysis to identify key performance requirements, knowledge gaps, and field challenges.
- Design a blended learning solution that includes eLearning, mentorship, and hands-on OJT components—helping learners translate principles into daily operational practice.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to ensure learning content reflects real-world field scenarios and decision-making responsibilities.
- Establish templates, frameworks, and standards to support consistent rollout and scalability of training across the 235+ second-line supervisors in 14 states.
- Manage project deliverables, timelines, and communication with stakeholders, providing updates, facilitating reviews, and driving alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design, or Training Program Development, with a focus on safety-critical or systems-based learning.
- Proven ability to design blended learning programs integrating eLearning, mentorship, and applied field training.
- Experience developing training for technical supervisors or operational leaders in oil & gas, utilities, or similar high-risk industries.
- Excellent facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate while leading deliverables and defining best practices.
- Demonstrated capability to design engaging, high-quality learning experiences that help learners understand and apply safety and governance frameworks.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, coordination, and communication across multiple workstreams.
- Familiarity with operational governance frameworks preferred.
- Location: Local presence in the Permian Basin is strongly preferred to enable close collaboration with field operations and project stakeholders.
- Tools & Equipment: Consultant must provide their own laptop and required development tool licenses.
- Attributes: The ideal consultant is a proactive, strategic learning partner—able to collaborate closely while confidently recommending best practices and demonstrating what “good learning” looks like in complex operational environments.
Start Date: ASAP
Work Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Midland, TX (Hybrid – some onsite presence required – travel expenses will be reimbursed)
Duration: Contract (initial engagement through Q1 2026, with potential extension through 2027)
The pay range is $70 to $75 per hour on a W2 basis and is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, relevant education, certifications, and specific work location.
