Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Style Editor to join our team on a part-time basis (10-20 hours per week). The Style Editor will review and edit eLearning courses designed for newly hired and industry-entry technicians in the oil & gas sector. This position will work closely with our Instructional Designers to ensure consistency in language, formatting, tone, and overall presentation across various training modules. As a Style Editor, you will play a key role in enhancing the readability, professionalism, and engagement level of our training materials. Your objective will be to work with Instructional Designers and Developers to ensure writing style is consistent, coherent, and in accordance with style guide.
Role Responsibilities:
Duration: 3+ months (with possibility for extension)
Hours: 10-20 hours per week
Location: 100% Virtual
The pay range is $55 to $65 per hour. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, relevant education, certifications and specific work location.

Role Responsibilities:
- Review eLearning course content for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and adherence to established style guides and company standards.
- Ensure consistency in tone, formatting, and terminology across all training modules.
- Collaborate with Instructional Designers to clarify concepts and refine course materials.
- Provide constructive feedback and suggest edits to improve the readability and effectiveness of training content.
- Maintain a record of style guidelines specific to the oil and gas industry to aid the development team.
- Track and report on editing progress and communicate any content issues or inconsistencies with the team.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, or related field.
- Proven experience in editing or proofreading, preferably in eLearning, technical training, or corporate learning environments.
- Familiarity with oil and gas industry terminology is a plus.
- Excellent command of grammar, punctuation, style, and syntax.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency across content.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines within a flexible part-time schedule.
- Writing samples may be required during selection process.
